All the comforts for cruising

As a cruiser, this 27'9” platform includes an ergonomically designed 7' wide cockpit for 6 people, 5'10” headroom below deck and extra long bunks for four crew. Twin 22-gallon water tanks, hot and cold pressurized water system, both sink and shower, and an enclosed head with holding tank round out the amenities. A 40-quart cooler is built into the cockpit and 6 cubic feet of icebox space is incorporated into the L-shaped galley. A 9HP Yanmar diesel with saildrive power the ELIXIR and an 18-gallon fuel tank is ample for long passages.

 

State of the art racing design and technology

As a racer, the ELIXIR is designed for efficient sail handling and easier crew work. The ELIXIR'S hull is designed to accommodate her spacious interior yet to perform in all wind conditions effectively. She points well, tacks quickly, and has the power to punch through the steepest chop without pounding. Beamy, yet shallow hull draft allows for surfing in less wind. She can easily be outfitted for bowsprit and asymmetrical spinnaker for an offwind sail plan of 650 square feet. Up- wind area is 412 square feet for the mainsail and 100% jib.

 

Built to last and go fast

The ELIXIR boasts West System epoxy resin throughout. Corecell closed-cell foam cores and woven fabrics of E-glass keep weight down and stiffness up. A recipe for top performance, the ELIXIR has all Harken hardware, Charleston spars, and UK sails stock. Her keel is a 2000- pound lead bulb and fin configuration designed with a narrow deep section for maximum lift to drag ratio.
